Diploma in Counselling and Human Relations 1999.
M.A. Counselling in the Community 2002.
Since qualifying as a counsellor in 1999, I have worked successfully in both the voluntary and private sector with a broad range of clients and issues. (E.g. Loss and bereavement, anxiety, stress, depression, sexual abuse, low self-esteem, relationships). I also provide training for members of a bereavement group.
As a member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I work within their Ethical Framework.
As a counsellor, I believe in the capacity of each human being to find solutions to their problems – in their own time and in their own way. Sometimes however, it may be helpful to talk to someone who is independent and outside of our usual social circle.
I provide a safe, supportive and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your personal circumstances in confidence. My way of working is flexible and responsive to the uniqueness of each client. The aim of the counselling process is to gain self-acceptance and find a way forward that is appropriate and meaningful.
I offer both short and long-term therapy and accept referrals from organisations as well as private clients.
