Shiatsu

Amanda Crawshaw

Shiatsu is a gentle, non-intrusive Japanese massage which works with the body’s energy, known as ki (in Japanese) and qi (in Chinese). The word ‘Shiatsu’ translates as ‘finger pressure’, though techniques can also involve hand pressure, stretching, squeezing, tapping, stroking and rubbing in order to release muscles and improve circulation of Blood and Ki around the body.

Shiatsu techniques Amanda uses works on the same acupressure points and principles as Acupuncture. These techniques restore balance and harmony via energetic pathways known as meridians, or channels. Shiatsu can touch a person on lots of different levels, including physical and emotional problems. It offers time and space to replenish energy and, if used over a period of time, it can help support positive changes in your life.
